About Old Hickory House:
In 1953, Bill Black and his son, Jack, opened the first Old Hickory House Restaurant at 1527 Northside Drive in Atlanta. They had no idea what he was starting! FIFTY years and MILLIONS OF POUNDS of Bar B Q later, we know that was the beginning of a great Atlanta Tradition. Jack, along with his brother, Don, his sister, Mary Frances, and his parents, Bill and Frances Black and other family members have been putting "Some South in the Mouth" of our customers for four generations.
The Bar B Q Sauce and the Brunswick Stew are old family recipes. How good are they? Well, folks have eaten over 3 million gallons of Brunswick Stew since we started selling it and over 10 million gallons of Bar B Q Sauce have been "sopped up & sucked down".
