Empire State South takes a modern approach to creating authentic Southern dishes, relying on the beautiful foods of this region. A community restaurant that appeals to a broad range, Empire State South is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a to-go lunch program, courtyard bocce ball and an extensive coffee bar.
Hugh Acheson is the chef/partner of Empire State South. Acheson is a four-time James Beard Foundation nominee and chef/partner of the lauded Five & Ten, The National and Gosford Wine in Athens, GA.
Executive Chef of Empire State South is Ryan Smith. Trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Ryan received his degree in 2000 and has since worked in Atlanta's most prominent restaurants including Bacchanalia, Canoe, Restaurant Eugene and Holeman & Finch.
Empire State South is open for Breakfast M-F, 7:00am-10:00am, Lunch M-F, 11:00am-3:00pm, Dinner Sun-Thurs, 5:30pm-10:00pm, Dinner on Friday & Saturday, 5:30pm-11:00 pm. Brunch on Saturday & Sunday, 10:30am-3:00 pm. The ESS coffee shop is always open with to-go options available.
