We moved back to the USA a couple of years ago, from Greece and Cyprus where we were living for about 10 years. We openend Andryannis Bistro Cafe April 27, 2009 and are very happy about being here in Decatur and have waiting a long time for and opportunity like this.

Marios is the Chef here at Andryannis, he has about 25 years experience in this business, starting out in Manhattan, NY in the 80's with his first restaurant. Kaliopy has also about 22 years in the restaurant business starting out at age 15 at her parents Greek restaraunt "Windmill " Greek restaurant on Cheshire Bridge Rd.

Info: When we opened our doors in February of 1994, the concept was simply to open a casual bistro where people could meet and enjoy light fare with coffee and drinks. The brainchild of Arnaud Michel, Jean-Frederic Perfettini, and Jacques Hourtal, Anis became an instant success and quickly developed a devoted following. Very soon it became apparent that a larger menu and a more traditional restaurant setting would be needed to satisfy the needs of its clientele. The menu was vastly expended, and earned glowing reviews in the process. In the years since it's inception, Anis has managed to retain it's warm and cozy atmosphere, but is always adding to the look and feel of the restaurant in many ways. The outdoor patio is one of Atlanta's favorite, the decor is ever changing, but most importantly, the food is what keeps people coming back for more. We accept reservations, and can cater to large parties with ease.

Info: About the year 1650, three brothers named Pope came to America from England and settled in three adjoining counties in the northern neck of Virginia. Third generation son, Burrell Pope, migrated to what is now known as Wilkes County Georgia in the year 1762. He brought with him his newly born son, Wiley Woods Pope. It was Wiley who started this house in 1797. Wiley's granddaughter's husband, John Howard Walton, continued the construction of the house, but did not finish it because of his involvement with the war between the states. During the Civil War, John's Pregnant wife, Mary Elizabeth Pope Walton, lived alone in the house with only a young slave girl named Sarah to assist her. Sarah stayed on to nurse the newborn, Lulu Belle, and when Sherman marched through Georgia, it was she who helped to hide the silver. Sherman's troops rode through the hallways raiding and plundering, but the house was spared because of the newborn baby.
